All
items are made from acrylic or similar plastics and are formed by a variety of
methods. Each piece has been
decorated personally by Gail Klevan using various metallic foils and coloured
compounds. They are backed with
durable lacquers and varnishes and some items are signed.
Pierced-ear
fittings are made from surgical steel which contains between 6-13 % nickel but
has a release rate of less than 0.5 g/cm2/week of nickel and therefore conforms
with European Community ( EG ) Nickel Directive (76/769/EEC ) 1999.
Hooks
for drop earrings are also made from surgical steel and Clip-on
findings are made from gold plated brass.
For
those who are hyper-sensitive to nickel, sterling silver
fittings can be supplied at extra cost.
The
metal tubes used in the chokers, neck and wrist cuffs are gold or white-bronze
plated copper. White bronze alloys typically contain copper, tin and zinc.
Acrylic
and other plastics are prone to damage when brought into contact with solvents
including but not limited to perfume, insect repellent, aerosols, hair spray,
hand creams and sun tan lotions which should be avoided.
The
jewellery should also be protected from extended
exposure to strong natural or artificial light as this can cause changes in
colour.
These
products are intended to be purely decorative artefacts and are supplied on an
“as is” basis. As the jewellery is hand-formed
and individually decorated it is subject to minor fluctuations in shape, colour,
size, and appearance.
All
copyright and intellectual property rights in the products and their design are
